We know the government shutdown brings uncertainty, especially about SNAP and food access. All students still receive free meals, and our Food Resources page links families to trusted local assistance. We’ll update it regularly—please reach out if needed.

Author Visit

Edgerton K-3 students had the opportunity to meet the author duo Philip and Erin Stead. The pair shared their newest book A Snow Day for Amos McGee, telling students about the story behind the story. Philip spoke about their creative process, while Erin drew an illustration, which is now proudly displayed in the library.

🌳 Math Meets History: Edgerton's Ancient Oak!
Students and teachers measure an old oak tree to determine its age

With guidance from teachers Richard Wallin and Marisa Knoss, 4th graders calculated the age of an oak tree on the grounds of Edgerton Elementary School — and determined it is about 143 years old, dating back to 1881–1882. "This is close to the time Edgerton's first one-room schoolhouse was built," Wallin explained. "One can only guess it may have been planted by Edgerton's first group of students!"
